Shi Studio is a Victoria based accessory design business which melds classic stained-glass methods with innovative jewellery design. Shi Studio fuses silk, glass, silver, brass, mixed metals, pearls, gemstones, and leather into beautiful handmade jewellery and accessories. Each piece expresses individual style and draws from multiple craft traditions and years in the handmade movement.
From leather wrap cuffs, charm bracelets, pendants, earrings, and necklaces to festival pocket belts, interchangeable belts and buckles, leather feather and boho long necklaces, Shi Studio offers jewelry styles from classic elegance to bohemian chic.
Bringing together a passion for shape and colour, the artistry of stained glass, and the rich tradition of silk and textiles, Shi Studio creates elegant one of a kind artisan jewelry and accessories.
Theses accessories are inspired by the stunning brocades of Southern China and Indian sequin sari silks. We also profile colourful, bold and natural form art of April Lecheur in the artist series and the whimsical nature-based art of OlaDesigns. Also, in the artist series is the magical and contemporary artwork of Gosia. Aa highlight of Shi accessories is the use of hand embroidered Qing dynasty weddings silk, skirts, and wall panels from 1820-1900. The pieces made with this limited-edition silk are profound in beauty and meaning. Also, a note of honour with Shi Sudios was being asked to design and make the official parting gift for Prince William and Kate Middleton in 2016 on their visit to Victoria. A necklace and earrings were given to Kate and William got cufflinks.
